In front of the camera, he is a talented rapper, writer and actor whom at an early age realized and began developing his craft as an entertainer. Behind the scene, he is a writer, director, executive producer, artist manager, and philanthropist. Curtis “Al Nuke” Franklin is an entertainment professional in every sense of the meaning. He has spent the past 20+ years of his life mastering his crafts through education and perseverance. By nurturing his god given talents, hard work and dedication “Al Nuke” has created and established a noteworthy brand of his own in this industry. As a native Detroiter born and bred, he share every personal and professional success with his home city of Detroit, holding yearly charitable picnics with free concerts for the city. Al is educated and active in the political arena, back in 2004 assisting Presidential Candidate Al Gore to Former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and Gov. Jennifer Granhom, consciously keeping abreast of the current issues and remaining involved in various political movements. Nuke never views it as a chore, instead an honor to appear and volunteer at several local schools in an effort to speak, encourage and mentor the youth to always strive for greatness. In 2011 Nuke organized a “HEAL DETROIT” walk & rally. He motivated and challenged community members, government officials, local artist and the media from across the city to walk several miles from opposite ends of the city (East & West) with the final meeting point to be in the middle of the city (Woodward Ave) at a local park to rally for peace in Detroit. Successfully, hundreds walked and felt by the nation. As an artist Nuke has completed and released 5 albums and 7 mixtapes. As he initially began testing his comfort level with the filmmaking process, Nuke participated in the 2001 controversial documentary “STREETLIFE”, which gained much momentum for the rawness of its characters and the stories that were depicted. He then moved on to executive produce and host Detroit’s #1 TV Show for five years straight, “Nuke At Night”. In 2004 Al Nuke proved himself as a true triple threat by making his writing, acting and directorial debut in the urban classic “17000 BLOCK”, solidifying his natural talent for filmmaking. In his latest film “Birds Of A Feather”, Nuke Writes, Directs, Executive Produces and Acts along side Gucci Mane, Zaytoven, Rocko among others. He made certain that his character “NUKE’s” wardrobe only included a medley of Detroit logos. As always he vows to include HIS CITY! Following the June 25, 2013 Release of “Birds Of A Feather” (Screen Media Films) was release shattering critics estimates raking in Top Urban Drama on Red Box, and selling though-out countless shelves in Wal-Mart nationwide. Still searching Nuke continues to make his mark in entertainment; he aims to be a true pioneer of his time. In both his personal and professional life Al believes that to whom much is given much is expected and he anticipates the future growth and development of his talents, experiences, and brand.
